PROJECT OVERVIEW


The CPV St. Charles Energy Center generates enough reliable electricity on average to power more than 700,000 Maryland homes and offset carbon dioxide emissions equivalent of taking more than 795,000 cars off the road each year. Through our use of General Electric’s (GE) advanced power generation technology, CPV St. Charles provides safe, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible power for MD. CPV St. Charles pairs well with less reliable power sources like wind and solar because it provides a backstop to maintain grid reliability when the wind or sun cuts out.
