Project Overview

CPV Stagecoach Solar is an 80 MWac solar power generation facility in Macon County, Georgia. The project is located on approximately 500 acres of agricultural land near Andersonville and utilizes local grazing sheep for vegetation management. This is part of an increasingly common practice in the solar industry known as ‘agrivoltaics’, which enables local renewable energy generation and economic development to take place side by side with continued agricultural use of the land.

Community Benefits

  • Adds long-term tax revenue that can be used towards community causes and benefits.
  • Created approximately 100 jobs during construction and, now in operation, engages local farmers for sheep grazing implementation.
  • Benefits local businesses through increased commerce from the project and workers.

Environmental Benefits

  • Incorporates agrivoltaics by utilizing grazing sheep for vegetation management across 500 acres.
  • Will deliver up to 190,000 MWh of clean, solar energy to GA households and businesses.
  • Adds to Georgia’s energy diversity.
