Project Overview

CPV Towantic Energy Center is an 805-megawatt combined cycle electric generating facility located in Oxford, Connecticut in the Woodruff Hill Industrial Park.

Using advanced power generation technology from General Electric (GE), CPV Towantic provides safe, reliable, cost effective and environmentally responsible power for Connecticut.

Combined-cycle plants like CPV Towantic are approximately 30 percent more efficient than conventional electric generation technologies, meaning they need less fuel to produce the same amount of electricity. The result? Lower costs and fewer emissions.
