CPV Secures 10-Year Gas Netback with EQT to Supply 2+ GW CPV Shay Energy Center

SILVER SPRING, MD – August 12, 2026 — Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), through an affiliate, and EQT Corporation (NYSE: EQT) executed a power netback gas sale agreement for the CPV Shay Energy Center, a 2,100 megawatt (MW) combined-cycle natural gas power plant in Doddridge County, West Virginia. The agreement, a 10-year commitment, is set to begin when the plant enters commercial operation. Under the terms, EQT will cover the entirety of CPV Shay’s anticipated natural gas burn of over 100 BCF per year.

“This is a strong partnership and sets the foundation for the project’s commercialization,” said Peter Podurgiel, President of CPV. “Since first announcing our plans to develop CPV Shay, we have understood the critical need for new generation that continues to increase in the PJM region. Together with EQT, we will be able to provide dispatchable generation to help support a responsible energy transition in an area with increasing power demands.”

“Partnerships like this demonstrate what’s possible when producers and power generators work together to meet America’s growing energy needs,” said EQT President and CEO, Toby Z. Rice. “We look forward to working alongside CPV to help deliver affordable, reliable energy for years to come, while advancing our shared commitment to fostering new, lower-carbon generation technologies.”

CPV Shay Energy Center is designed and will be permitted with the option to include carbon capture technology. Once complete, the project will serve as one of the cornerstone projects for CPV’s decarbonization platform.
