SAP Functional Architect

CPV is looking for a motivated SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Functional Architect with a strong foundation in Finance (FI) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, learning independently, and building toward becoming an end-to-end SAP functional expert.


You’ll play a key role in supporting and enhancing our SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment, acting as an in-house functional consultant, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.


This position is based in Silver Spring, MD, and will report to the Sr. Director of Application Services & Innovation, IT.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Support and configure SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, with a primary focus on Finance (FI)
  • Support financial processes including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and financial close
  • Perform Central Business Configuration (CBC) activities
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Assist with system testing, deployments, and ongoing enhancements
  • Create and maintain functional documentation and process flows
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions
  • Provide user support and training as needed
  • Act as a liaison between CPV and its vendors, 3rd party managed service providers, and consultants supporting SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
  • Keep up to date with SAP roadmap and inform leadership of key upcoming deliverables

Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of SAP functional experience, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud FI
  • 1+ Full Life-Cycle Implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of core FI processes (GL, AP, AR, FA)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    – Company code set up and organizational structures
    – CBC (Central Business Configuration) in S/4HANA Public Cloud
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams
  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Group Reporting, S/4HANA Public Cloud Billing & Professional Services
  • Preferred exposure to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and IT General Controls
  • Preferred Experience designing or working with CDS Views & Familiarity with SAP best practices in a public cloud environment
  • Must pass a pre-employment background and financial credit check

Compensation: The base annual salary range for this position is $125,000-$165,000.  In good faith, this range includes the minimum to maximum salary range for this position. The actual base salary for this position will be contingent upon individual experience, role responsibilities, and office location.

In addition to base salary, this position allows additional compensation and benefits, including:

  • an annual discretionary bonus, variable based on individual and company performance,
  • accrued paid time off (PTO) of 120 hours per year, and up to 13 company paid holidays, and
  • group benefits: 100% company paid medical, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 100% company match up to 6%, life insurance, short-and-long term disability, parental leave and flexible spending accounts.

The base annual salary range may be modified in the future.
