CPV Retail Energy is seeking a sales leader – C&I Renewable Energy / Energy Transition and Decarbonization. This business development and sales role is tasked with developing a go-to market strategy for sustainability products, building strong relationships with prospective and existing CPV Retail C&I clients and helping build a set of solutions for clients looking to meet or develop renewable energy, support broader ESG goals and decarbonize their enterprise. They will do this directly and through an existing network of brokers, advisors and consultants to gauge customer needs, formulating sales proposals for services and closing sales for CPV Retail Energy to deliver a unique set of holistic solutions to deliver renewable energy, energy efficiency and decarbonization services for C&I customers.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the overall business strategy and execution of tactical sales plans to increase sales of decarbonization, ESG and energy efficiency services to corporate direct C&I customers and organizations throughout the US Market.
  • Responsible for leading cross functional discussions to develop products and services needed to support customer sustainability solutions.
  • Engage client senior leadership including but not limited to CSOs, Energy Procurement, and CFOs to identify and sell new business opportunities for CPV Retail by understanding their sustainability and decarbonization objectives or other drivers relative to CPV Retails suite of services.
  • Expand work with existing customers to include additional ESG services base on sites and facility types.
  • Develop and grow strategic alliances with partner companies and Competitive Power Ventures to provide additional channels to market to enhance CPV Retail Energy’s value proposition.
  • Work collaboratively with Corporate Energy Management teams and to develop and employ strategies to gain insight into potential customers for identification of best service offerings
  • Employee sales and business development best practices and professionalism, including timely meeting follow ups, documented call reports, team collaboration.
  • Develop training and collateral for ESG, GHG strategies for brokers, advisors and consultants.
  • Establish ongoing pipeline management and monitor global sector trends which provide engagement opportunities.
  • Represent CPV Retail Energy as a subject matter expert at large industry partner conference, association events and participate as a speaker as required.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education experience in science, energy, ESG and or climate fields.
  • Understanding of ESG Reporting, GHG Accounting, CDP and corporate targets tied to Science Based Targets Initiatives and Net Zero goals and targets.
  • 8+ years of business development experience and/ or experience selling complex professional services to senior leadership of multi-site enterprises.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing the sale.
  • Project management experience preferably in the energy or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of client financial and ESG metrics and use these metrics to sell-in project and services to key decision makers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization from corporate executives to facility maintenance managers.
  • Understand the sales process at corporate enterprises for professional services as well as typical barriers of this process and techniques for working through any barriers.
  • Exceptional skills in sales and business development, and engagement with client senior leadership.
  • Strong formal presentation experience before small and large audiences.
  • A strong grasp of client financial and ESG metrics and the use of the metrics to sell-in projects and services to key decision makers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with ability to adeptly juggle multiple projects, program offerings, customers, deadlines and demands.
  • Proficiency in any of the following: decarbonization strategies, energy management services, energy efficiency, ESG consulting, industrial engineering, technical consulting.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with both internal and external client teams.
  • Adept at data management and metrics, comfortable with MS Office software, specifically, Excel and data manipulation/presentation.
  • Ability to make decision with data and be able to develop and/or track of sales metrics
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
