Associate, Engineer and Construction

CPV is looking for a junior-level Associate to join its Engineering & Construction Development Department, located in our Braintree, MA office. The successful candidate will play an active role in the evaluating the development of prospective greenfield renewable energy generation projects. Candidate must be self- motivated and be willing to take initiative to complete assignments in a fast pace environment. Strong computer simulation, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

The position reports to the Vice President, Engineering & Construction.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting various aspects of the development of renewable energy generation projects in the US from site identification through financial closing and construction. Requires working within a team consisting of internal and external resources. The specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Support the evaluation project sites for the development of renewable energy installations using simulation software and other desktop resources;
• Generate evaluation reports, charts, maps to support site development and construction execution;
• Support the development and construction teams from site identification through construction;
• Work closely and timely communicate with internal teams and external consultants including engineering, environmental, equipment suppliers and contractors;
• Update Management on project progress, action items and budget

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, ideally in engineering or physical science
• 1-2 years of experience in an energy-related business, solar and/or wind power generation experience a plus
• Must be a self-starter, organized, and able to work well with personnel at all levels in the organization; must possess top level computer, interpersonal, and facilitation skills;
• Ability to gather, organize and systematically analyze complex information;
• Strong engineering skills and understanding design drawings, GIS, spatial modeling and analysis
• Excellent writing, communications, presentation, interpersonal, problem-solving, design analysis, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint and proven ability to learn and utilize GIS, 3D modeling software programs.
• Ability to travel up to 25% as necessary
• Must pass a pre-employment background and financial credit check
