Policy Matters

Protecting consumers through active intervention

CPV plays an active role in the evolution of North America's energy markets.

To help guide this evolution, we firmly believe in the principles of competition. Competitive energy markets should provide the greatest value for consumers while also driving innovation to modernize North America’s aging energy infrastructure. And finally, competitive energy markets should reflect stability to attract investment.

North America’s energy markets are still a work in progress. With a multi-market portfolio, CPV has the experience to be a meaningful contributor across many jurisdictions. CPV was one of the first stakeholders to address the short-comings of long-term contracts in the Eastern energy markets. More, recently, CPV has been an active participant in the evolution of California’s market structure. At CPV, we have a reputation for telling public officials, regulators and stakeholders not what they want to hear, but what they need to hear.

At CPV, we aim to evolve North America’s energy policy, together.

Below are some of the many regulatory proceedings in which CPV has intervened.
