CPV is seeking an experienced Director of IT Project Management to join our team. This position reports to the Senior VP and Controller of the company, and will be based in Silver Spring, MD. The primary purpose of this client-facing role is to work closely with the CPV IT staff, the CPV accounting staff, third-party vendors, and key project stakeholders to lead, manage and deliver technology solutions on IT application projects, with an emphasis on financial and key metric reporting. The ideal candidate must have a combination of skills: 1) knowledge of web-based application development, 2) project management skills, 3) understanding of financial and key metric reporting, along with management level reporting, and 4) and business development skills. This is an individual contributor role yet must be able to manage resources in a matrix reporting structure.

This position includes travel to various client locations, up to 30% of time.



  • Develop detailed project plans and track progress, according to project specifications and business objectives
  • Be the primary lead to communicate and coordinate project plans with CPV’s accounting and internal IT teams, third-party vendors, and key stakeholders
  • Chair regular meetings with the project team and stakeholders, update and publish changes, as required
  • Lead change management process, as required
  • Develop and communicate analysis to key stakeholders, as required
  • Identify project risks and issues, resolve obstacles, and manage expectations, while keeping the project team informed with effective communications
  • Outline and maintain comprehensive project documentation, and provide timely status updates


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an applications management environment required
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) strongly recommended
  • Experience working with financial systems
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills
  • Ability to understand, document, present, and communicate situations in a manner that influences stakeholder buy-in
  • Ability to work with all staffing levels in a team environment
